"Respect in the Workplace"
Here's a workshop dedicated to how to manage your boss. Despite all the literature about how managers need to learn how to motivate their team, sometimes working for an unmotivated manager is just as common. In this workshop, we look at strategies that you can use to motivate and energize your manager, without overstepping your bounds or causing offense. For example, your manager may need motivation to complete undesirable tasks that you need so that you can function effectively in your role. Or your boss might focus on his/her favorite projects, while not providing you with the support and inspiration and knowledge that you need. Perhaps you even have a manager who's become comfortable in their role and isn't driving you and the team forward as they used to. Before you can begin any conversation, you need to erase any hope of winning or being right from your gut. Just as your manager's task is to get his work done through others, your role is to manage up. The challenge is for you to take responsibility for your role in every management relationship. We will talk about clearly spelled out and reasonable expectations; the skills and resources you need to accomplish those expectations; and proper recognition and rewards in exchange for your performance.
"Managing Multiple Priorities, Time and Life"
One of the biggest challenges we have in our current work world is identifying our smart goals, learning how to work more efficiently through proper prioritizing, and then being implement our planning time and scheduling. If you're finding that getting everything done has become a daily struggle and you've forgotten what it feels like to accomplish even the simplest of tasks in your busy day, then this is the workshop you need. We will not only look at how you are spending your time, but learn essential “proven to work” tools for setting goals, overcoming procrastination, meeting deadlines, completing projects faster and being more productive.
"Tough Conversations – How to Deal with Uncomfortable Workplace Situations"
Inappropriate attire, lateness, sexually offensive behavior, tattoos, warring employees, and all the other poor work habits and job performance concerns are up to a manager to address and challenge. We all realized that we would need to "have a talk" with our people about discipline and performance problems. But how do you prepare to talk about their "bad attitude" when they don't seem to care. This practical solution-oriented workshop is based on Paul Falcone's expertise in helping manager's to address performance, conduct and discipline challenges. It uses typical case scenarios and role plays to help the participants acquire skills to have common and uncommon managerial discussions that lead to productive solutions. Covering everything from substandard performance reviews to personal hygiene to termination meetings, this workshop helps managers treat their people with dignity, focusing not just on what to say but also on how to say it. It will teach the participant proven techniques that managers can use to protect themselves and their organization, and get the very best from their people.
"The ABC's of Job Success: Attitude, Behavior and Conduct"
This workshop is designed for the new entries into the workforce or for work readiness training. The number one reason employers fire people is because of their attitude. Those who influence your success have to understand what you say, accept how you look and behave and approve of your attitude toward work and your accomplishments. However it is up to you to recognize your knowledge and skills and respond with a positive attitude, interpersonal behavior and conduct in order to be retained, advance to more responsibilities and a higher performing position. In these three part series of workshops, we will examine the concept of attitude at the workplace to create a positive perception of your performance. "I am just doing my job and that isn't part of my job description" is a sure way to get your self fired in today's economy. We will also examine the concepts of appearance, language, communication, conflict management, being a team player, respect, conduct and anger management. With these skills, you will be rewarded for your professionalism and your value to any organization.
"Running on 'E': Empty or Energy"
As women become professional business leaders, we are acutely aware of our imbalanced life styles. We just feel like we are constantly running on Empty and we sometimes feel as helpless about removing our internal obstacles and liabilities as we do about the rising costs of gas.
Many times our fall back strategies of juggling one demand and then the next is constantly depleting. The lack of resources, support, time, or ability to change makes it inevitable that we drop a ball. In this highly interactive workshop, we will use each other as a social support as we assess our "brain drivers" - our cherished but dangerous beliefs and our forgotten values that produce our work/life liabilities. These include our "shoulds," and our guilt and our need to be perfect. We will than use "brainstorming" to gain some tips and techniques to set short and long term realistic goals with our assets to make profitable changes. Finally we will look at alternative strategies to juggling such as alternating, outsourcing, bundling, techflexing and simplifying to rebalance our busy lives.

"Time Wasters Anonymous: How to Retire from the Club"
We are all "time challenged" maybe we are also members of "Time Wasters Anonymous." Have you ever heard of someone complaining that they have too much time on their hands? We tend to view time as an enemy rather than an ally. In this workshop, we will focus on time wasting habits and tips and strategies to get rid of them. We will have a perfect opportunity to look at how we currently are spending our time and how we might spend it more productively. We will identify our "problem areas" through a self-assessment time tool. We will discuss tips for common time wasters, such as handling interruptions and procrastination, look at the process of delegation and learn how to be assertive about protecting "our time." We will develop a personal action plan to improve the "quality of our time."
"Personal and Professional Ethics"
We only need to look at our newspapers to confirm that personal and professional ethics is an escalating problem in our organizations. It is a manager's responsibility to set the best practice standards for his/her staff and ethical behavior is a day-to-day issue within an organization. There is a difference between knowing what is right or wrong and acting accordingly. The acting side of things can be difficult. In this workshop, we utilize a variety of self-assessment tools, extensive role plays and a video to identify the principles of business ethics and its benefits. We describe the impact of unethical behavior on business, understand the formulation of our own value system and learn to identify and manage influences or pressures that can cause us to behave unethically at work. We review models that can help us when faced with ethical dilemmas, demonstrate how to "take a stand" when people are behaving unethically and learn how to respond confidently in our ethical decision-making.

All of the WorkWonders workshop topics are best delivered in a 1 – 4 hour format but can be customized to meet the client's needs. The trainings include self-assessments, interactive discussions, group exercises, role plays and lectures. The time depends on many things, including the needs of the client and the size and involvement of the audience. The audience walks away with a packet that contains all of the workshop material that they can refer to later. Occasionally, there will also be suggested homework exercises as follow-up to the training. The ideal audience size is 15 people, which allows time for individual questions and situations. However, these topics have been delivered to audiences of 25 – 65 participants.
